Hello Dogwood Pavilion,
I am reaching out on behalf of the Art Gallery at Evergreen, located within Evergreen Cultural center in Coquitlam. As a community space in Tri-Cities, our gallery is dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that connect people of all ages and backgrounds through art, creativity, and conversation. This fall, we are delighted to invite you to join us for our upcoming Tea, Tour & Textile event for adults aged 50+. We hope you can share the following information with seniors in your community.
Tea, Tour & Textiles (Age 50+)
This event will include a private exhibition tour of Maya Beaudry: Nesting at our gallery, followed by complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks in our lake-side lobby. Afterward, you will take part in a textile craft-along inspired by your own creative practice and the gallery exhibition. You can bring your own knitting, crocheting, or weaving projects—or learn new techniques in a 3D Needle Felting workshop led by our very own Wendy! We will provide supplies!
About the Exhibition:
Maya Beaudry builds spaces that breathe. Through layered textiles, stitched architectures, and sculptural surfaces, she explores the emotional residues of place—homes lost, cities transformed, and bodies remembered. Her work transforms textiles into mnemonic architectures, offering viewers a space to reflect, dwell, and imagine new forms of habitation that honour slowness, decay, and renewal.
Spaces are limited, please be sure to register early to secure your spot!

We look forward to seeing you for a morning of community and art!
Warmly,

To All Dogwood Activity Directors, Activity Group Leaders and Activity group members
I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. I am writing to share some important news with you.
Our bylaws require that you must be a current member to attend any Activity Group session, as well as a condition of our agreement with the City of Coquitlam. Our insurance policies only cover current members of the Society. We are almost into September and we still have a significant number of participants attending Activity Groups who have not renewed their membership for 2025.
Activity Group Leaders are asked to check their Activity Group Rosters and ensure they are complete and up to date. Non members may not attend Activities. New attendees should provide proof of Membership before attending Activity Group sessions.
Starting Monday, August 25th, all Activity Group Directors will be directed to ensure that all participants in Activity Groups are current members and have paid their membership fees for 2025. Our membership Director has sent lists of names of lapsed members to all Activity Directors, and these lists will be used to notify those participants to renew before they will be permitted to return to the Activity Group.
All groups must notify their lapsed members by August 31 that they are not permitted to attend until their membership is up to date.
You can renew your membership at the Ambassador’s Desk. Annual membership fees are $10 and can be paid by cash, or cheque. Please bring exact change as we do not have a float at the desk to make change.
We value your participation and enthusiasm, and we believe this change will help us better serve you and create an even more engaging and enjoyable environment for everyone.
As always, your feedback is important to us. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Activity Director for guidance or you may send an email to dogwoodseniors50plus@gmail.com.
Respectfully yours,
Wilhelmina Martin
President
